Who can recommend a good photo-editing, photo-management software program?

I lost my old laptop to a malware program back in November, so I haven't been taking many pics lately. I used to use Paintshop Pro, which was formerly a great little shareware program, but now Corel owns it and they charge an arm & leg in addition to annual renewals.

Can anyone give me a recommendation for a good, but inexpensive (or free) program that will re-size, crop, edit and print coin photos? Thanks!!!!!

And it is meant as a freeware substitute for Photoshop. It works on both Mac OS X, Windows, and I believe Most Linux distributions as well.

I use Photoscape. It's free, and does everything I need.

Gimp is way overkill for what you are asking for. My recommendation would be Paint.NET. It is also free.

I used to use GIMP and now I use Photoshop at work. For what I do, I prefer neither over the other. I am aware of Photoshop's more extensive features but I just need something simple (I'm tech dumb) and GIMP always got the job done.

I recommend that all important files, not just pics, be saved on a removable flash drive that is only plugged in while accessing the files. This has saved my important work more than once that I know of and probably countless times that I do not know of.

I like Google Picasa, it's free, does circle cropping, works with Mac or Windows, and you get free online storage, easy to access and post from at multiple resolutions.

I'm using Picasa 3 and do not see a circle crop feature.

It is the border feature with corner radius set to max. Feel free to PM me if you need more help with it.

I use GIMP for heavy-duty image proccessing. For simple photo manipulation, I use a free program called IrfanView. It's small, simple, and easy to use.
